Supports talented players from the less priviledged backgrounds by providing free training in the the Roots Football Academy age group teams that participates in KSFA Youth League, as well as other age group level national and state level festivals/ tournaments. Players are selected from the local community and schools through scouting. The different teams undergoes specialized training programme under the watchful eyes of a qualified coaching team, that is supported by a team of specialists which include physiotherapists, fitness trainers, sports psychologists etc. as well as supported by an administrative team that manages the operations and logistics of the teams. Currently the team training programmes are non-residential and are structured depending on the age groups (U19 to U9) to enable the trainees to manage sports as well as academics, while giving them the best opportunity and environment to compete with the best in the country.
The trainees are also given a monthly stipend for travel to the training
ground and food.Their expenses for travel, medical insurance, boarding and lodging during matches/ tournaments (local and outstation) are also covered.
Since a lot of the players are also first generation learners we emphasize on importance of education along with football.
We try to support the cost of education for scholarship players in age group teams wherever possible.
Around 30 players between the age of 9-19 years are currently supported under scholarships.
